About the foundation.

What we do.

The Guidance for Loved Youth Foundation (GFLY Foundation) is a youth and young adult–focused organization rooted in Toronto, Canada and expanding to South Florida, United States of America. Our mission is to empower the next generation by creating safe and inclusive spaces that support mental health, mentorship, and community connection.

Through workshops, sporting events, and galas, we address the needs of youth and young adults—particularly young Black men—while celebrating their resilience, leadership, and potential. We are more than a non-profit; we are a mission-driven movement created to break generational cycles of trauma, poverty, and marginalization. At the heart of our work is a deep belief in the potential of every human being, regardless of their history, diagnosis, or background.

  • Young Adults

We support young adults with mental health challenges or autism spectrum disorders that are in need of housing and daily living support.

    Youth

We support youth from underprivileged or system-involved backgrounds that are in need of mentorship, creative expression, life skills, and healing.

  • There is a significant gap in culturally responsive, trauma-informed programming and housing – our work aims to close that gap through person-centred support, mentorship and opportunities.

    • 1 in 5 Ontarians’ experience mental health or addiction issues each year.

    • Black and Indigenous youth are overrepresented in child welfare and justice systems.

With a proven track record of impact in Toronto, we are now extending our reach to South Florida to build stronger networks, provide vital resources, and amplify opportunities for growth.

Our team.

The vision and heartbeat behind the foundation comes from four dynamic, purpose-driven leaders—each bringing lived experience, professional expertise, and unwavering dedication to community transformation.
